History Textbooks too heavy ?

Agustina Stimmel: I've no idea why kids would hate history. It's one of my favorite subjects.I like it because of the different lands and cultures. Also the art and languages.Maybe they'll like it if you talk to them about the wars and battles of America. Lots of explosions. Students are usually fascinated by weird things people do. You could talk to them about the tar-and-feather punishment. Or the strange ways of torture ancient China used....Show more

Madie Strople: I love history, personally, but I think most kinds probably don't see a point to it because the people are, let's face it, DEAD. More activities, like making up scenarios, could get kids more involved, or, for those that LOVE to talk (like me), LOOOOOONG debates.

Marita Stadick: If students are expected to memorize a lot of names and dates, then history is boring. Teachers can make it more interesting by helping students understand general trends and by simplifying and summarizing complex events! . Also, it's important to illustrate history using anecdotes.

Talisha Digrande: It really depends on which history you're learning about. If it's meaningful history, then people will be more drawn to it. If it's just one useless war, event, transaction, etc after another in history, then people will find it boring since there was no moral or not much to learn from it. Actually, we can all learn from history. (no matter what it is, some tend to draw more attention than others because there was more soul-searching involved in the events that happened.... such as the American or French Revolutions) History is important. If you don't learn from history, you're condemned to repeat it's mistakes. I think that as long as people know this and see examples of it in history, then history will be exciting and seen as more than just another lame story....Show more

Barton Morfee: Not like that...they won't hate History...They want to study some more New in Internet and Compu! ter related,,,Some one they thinking it's Tuf proces....
