Wilbert Shellgren: I presume you are talking about equity-based crowdfunding in privately held companies. At the present time this is not allowed in the USA, but the House of Representative has overwhelmingly passed a bill which would allow this and it is presently under consideration in the US Senate.It is allowed in Europe, but there are many limitations attached to their rules. Italy has enacted legislation with the most lenient standards to equity-based financing. Australia also has a board that facilitates such financing.
