how bad is a car with 102k mileage?

Cletus Makler: If it does not rattle or smoke buy it.

Kip Ockenfels: Not 102K miles. and a USED KIA at that!? It'll be good for a MAX of 1 year with multiple beeakdowns. The dealership I used to work at refused to sell a used Kia. They tried it ONCE and it was a lemon. They avoided a lawsuit by the grace of God. Mabye a Toyota Corolla will do it. Kia is Korean and they are cheap. The Koreans aren't cheap. Just their cars.

Morris Olexy: this is a throw away car yes it has a lot of miles on it you need something with a much better reputation than that auto go to honda or toyota the same year or 2002 find one with less miles for what you are going to do with the car you will be happier and it wont leave you on the side of the road

Jonathan Schlussel: u can gets years out of it if it has been well cared for. i drove one with 300.000 miles on it and again it could lay down tomorrow, i had a new new truck that was horrible from day 1. kinda like , u just have ! to chance it and hope for the best

Tyrone Disanti: Now a days, 100k is not that much mileage as long as the car has been well maintained. I bought a Honda Accord with 206k on it and drove it for a year and sold it running well with 220k on it. Best 700 dollars I ever spent !

Sheron Perrez: Thats alot of miles for a 2001 car, in my opinion. I got my 98 Isuzu Rodeo with 117,000 miles. A good number to stay around when getting a used car is less an 120,000 miles.

Kaley Lappas: A well maintained, late model car with 100k miles should go another 50k without trouble, and 75-100k more is not out of the question. You may have to make minor repairs though since a lot of the cars replaceable parts will be reaching the end of their usable lives. Have any car with that high mileage checked out by a mechanic before you buy it, and expect to be changing things like belts, hoses, and tires in the near future. The problem with the particular car you're looking at is tha! t it's a KIA!!! Those are about the worst cars out there. No j! oke, a Consumer Reports description once said,"You'd have to look long and hard to find a worse car that a Kia Sephia." If they want more than $500 for it, take a pass. So my advice is, don't rule out cars with around 100k miles if you can get a good deal, but don't even consider buying a Kia, ever....Show more
