Miguel Koczela: You cannot enter into a contract for anything until you are 21. You can "Buy" it but an adult needs to sign for it. You will need a license to register a car.

Booker Moros: Yes you can buy a car, but you can't register the car without the license. Just give your parents the money to buy it if you decide you want it. Then when you get your license, register it and get it on the road.

Fred Caminita: Daniel's pretty much right. You need to be 18 and in a few states 19 to sign a contract. Not sure how that flies with most sellers, though...You can't register without insurance and you have to be legal to get insured on your own.Your parents do need to do the dirty work, though....Show more
