Geraldo Mccalla: Unless you own a BMW you will have to pay for regular maintenance.BUT you need not take it to to the dealer. Most shops can do this for you and if you keep the paper work to prove you have had it done, the warranty from the factory is still good. But this is much less costly way to have the work done.
Jeff Frizzell: True and false. While basic oil changes and Fluid replacements are maintenance services that you have to pay for. Now your warranty pays for any problems with your car. Example: You've had an oil change every 3,000 miles. You engine breaks and you find out its a valve that went bad. Your warranty covers you because you've changed the oil regularly. So the part just went bad and it was not your fault so you covered, No Problems. Now here's another example: Your Transmission needs servicing every 30,000 miles. You wait until 50,000 miles toservicee the trans. A part goes bad in the trans. Since you did not service the trans when it w! as due. Your warranty won't cover your transmission repair....Show more
Norine Lomonte: Unless it is part of your new car plan (so many free oil changes) . You will have to pay for the maintenance yourself . However many reputable dealerships will perform a free multi point inspection . Anything that is not driver wear (ie belt brakes and tires) may be covered under warranty
Kip Ockenfels: Well, like most of us, mechanics aren't charity workers, they need to be paid for services. Warranty is for repair and replacement, not for checks, so I suggest you likely should be paying. However, some vehicles are sold with pre-paid maintenance checks included. I suggest, if you are taking your car to the dealer that sold it to you that, if you are being charged, you do not have one of those deals. I have never had one of those deals, in 43 years of driving.
