Tricia Dossous: http://cpsafety.com/articles/BraceTether.aspxWe have the Diono Radian, this is from the manual:installations with Radian:1) Install Radian rear-facing as per the instruction manual.2) Adjust the vehicle front seat to an upright angle that is acceptable and comfortable.3) Slide vehicle front seat back until it contacts the back of the Radian. (see picture on left below) NOTE: if the bottom of the Radian raises/lifts-up from the vehicle cushion, vehicle seat must be moved forward slightly.4) Depending on the vehicle, raising the head rest on the front vehicle seat by 1â (25mm) may allow the front seat to slide back further. .BUT --- many newer cars do not allow a child car seat to touch the back of the front driver/passenger seats. And some rear face seats do not recommend bracing. So you need to read both your car manual AND the car seat manual....Show more
Terresa Tsasie: underneath most carseats, is another belt with a hook type deal. Some car se! ats have another type of belt as well, that one I never figured out, but the one I am refering to, can go up/down from the car seat. It is used to wrap around the seat (vertically), and anchor to either a frame or a lip that the standard seat in the car is anchored to.On the Passenger seat in the car, You raise the head rest, and wrap the belt under the headrest, and let it hang down, while the other end of the belt, goes through, in between the base and back of the seat, you may have to lean seat forward using the recline lever, to allow you to pass it through. The two should be able to connect together, with the hook able to anchor to the Vehicle seat base/frame point of contact.(If there is no connecter and just a belt with a hook, then it just goes around and underneath the headrest, and connects to an anchor point, and you dont have to worry about going through bottom of seat)...Show more
