whats a better transmission for doing landscaping work?....automatic or manual?

Marcellus Yoshimori: Auto transmissions aren't as strong as manuals. You're relying on hydraulic operated clutches, and bands rather than a mechanical gear connection. There's also a lot more that can go wrong with them. BUT in this case,i would still probably go with the Nissan, as the over all build quality, and engineering is better (personal opinion)

Pearlie Medora: get a 3/4 or 1 ton truck then you will have something

Luke Creitz: Neither are good. A 4 cylinder used in any business will cost you more in repairs than the truck is worth and you will not make any money. Your landscaping business mist be in the toilet if you are driving a 1996 4 cylinder truck. Truthfully, if I saw you drive up in that piece of junk I would not hire you. My landscaper drives a 2009 big Chevy pick-up and hauls a trailer with all of his tools. Neither he or I are rich. If you are good and want good jobs, you must appear to be successful....Show more

Granville Stray! : Usually companies mate autos to higher power engines (and diesel). For a 4 cylinder I'm thinking it might be a wash. Personally I'd go with the nissan not because of the transmission but because they're a bit better built. Get it inspected before purchase.

Raelene Cunnick: Let me start by saying all landscaper that i know usually have junk in the back of the truck all the time, so i would say you should go with a manual transmission, because it would haul a load much better.I thank you should go with the chevy truck ,because it cheaper to get parts for over the nissan .

Heidy Fujikake: Transmission wise, I'd get a manual tranmission. However, Nissans are better built than chevys. If you could find a Nissan with a manual transmission, I would get that.

I m planning on starting an outside garden. I can t visit it every day. DIY ways to have constant water supply per week without a pump?

Len Dalba: http://customessentialoil.webstarts.com/

Bibi Tyron: Olla gardens.........which is an ancient technique from SW and Mexico where water is in a clay pot and oozes out through the pot and plants surround the pot. You can do similar with plastic jugs and holes that drip out water over a couple of days. Waffle gardens are used by SW native Americans.....the garden is planted in a series of depressions so any moisture collects in the depression. Or you can get large containers.......55 gal drums large, elevate them, hook a drip irrigation system to them. Refill the drums when you visit. Remember to mulch your garden plants well so sun/evaporation does not steal soil moisture....Show more

Cody Petrulis: Growing pot ? Water for a week ? You didn't say if there is a water supply at the garden area or if you have to bring it. So ? Fill 55 gallon barrels full of water and make a" drip irrigation system " from the barrels to the plants. No pump re! quired.

will remodeling INCREASE my home value - what are buyers looking for?

Branden Round: When I bought MY house, I was impartial to a formal dining. I knew right away I would use it as an office, and just put my desk and a book shelf in there (and my job stuff).

Ollie Hamiel: How big is your kitchen? Does your house have an open floor plan?Dining rooms have been replaced by spacious kitchens big enough to accomodate a dining area with an informal dining room. Fewer people today are looking for a formal dining room. However, if your kitchen is not as I described, then you'd be better off keeping the dining room.If you want to stay flexible, keep the two doors on the dining room so that the next homeowner can either keep it as an office or turn it back into a dining room. Oh, and wood is better than tile both for an office and a dining room. The shelves can always be removed and the wall touched up....Show more

Sharron Salin: The cost of a home remodel is not always recouped so whatever you do, try to do things that have the biggest ! impact for the least amount of money.Having had Travertine, ceramic tile and wood, I like wood as a selling point because it's warmer in both look and feel.As for the office, I would not wall it off in the traditional way but use a form of rolling screens. Depending on your decor you could do a rustic rolling barn door effect. This way, the room can be interpreted to match the buyers needs without a cost to cure....Show more

Jules Ashbach: don't do it. Not everyone wants an office. Hardwood. Yes they want a dinning room.

Roxane Leathers: Generally remodeling cost are not fully recovered when selling a house. They may make the home more appealing and easier to sell but will not always increase in value.

Faustino Mellerson: Yes. As long as you remodel and renovate in the right way. Make sure that the improvements are desirable, and worth it. Check out Swedish Dekor's blog to get some design ideas and see where we have made our home improvements http://www! .swedishdekor.com/_blog/Design_Blog

is it too early to start decorating for halloween ?

Piedad Bassiti: It's never too early. Well maybe yeah if you did it in the middle of summer, but still, september is a month away from october, and they are already selling the decorations so why not?? I don't see it as a problem :P Unless it's already decorated like crazy then yeah I would take it down for a few more days. But just a little is fine.

Jed Mutone: I would say this weekend should be the earliest, but really no one should care. Decorate whenever you feel like it.

Christy Tirabassi: I say the earliest you should start is Sept 10th, but my family always starts on Oct. 1st or so. If you aren't sure, wait till you start seeing stuff at your neighbors houses and friends'

Keven Woodington: October 1st is great as long as your decorations can postpone for the full month. from time to time i'm going to attend till the 2d week of October to do my adorning. You do it once you like, it is your call, there at the instant are not set protocols after the! 1st! satisfied Halloween

Patrica Loertscher: No. I start decorating on November first for the next year! Not really but it's never too early.

Rona Ising: We're working on it. The easy decorations are slowly going up as we get the time and decide which ones we're using this year and which ones we've used too much the past few years and will stay in storage for a while longer. We've got a LOT of stuff for Halloween. We have a really big house so it takes us a while to decorate. Especially since we're all Halloweenies. LOL! We try to do one new "big" thing every year. Last year they "hung" me as I'm the smallest and lightest. Scared a lot of people when I started talking to them from 20 feet up in a tree, dangling from a noose (actually a harness, obviously). This year, one of my housemates is done with his current project (he's a contractor) and has nothing upcoming right away, so he's using some of our scrap lumber and other recycled/reclaimed things fr! om our big workshop to build a coffin. I already tested a bun! ch of hinges until I found some really loud, squeeky, creaky ones out there, and he'll put those on it. Another housemate does pyrographic art and is going to add strange and arcane symbols on it. When she's done with that, I'll stain the coffin and rough it up a bit, paint over some of the symbols and generally "age" the whole thing. We'll take turns hiding in there on Halloween and scare the dickens out of the swarms of kids we get every year. Told you we were Halloweenies. It's our favorite holiday in this house! ;-)...Show more
